In the above picture, shared from the dev logs, it is hypothesized that we are seeing the final Relic Sword, Excalibur.
It seems we may be seeing the end of the Relic Weapon progression line soon. Beginning with the original relics and progressing through the Zenith, Atma, Animus, Novus, and the recently added Nexus, the relic weapons are a symbol of tenacity and hard work in FFXIV. Those who trudged through the ATMA's and worked their tails off through the Novus will finally get to see the end of all their labors. This is all speculation, of course, but hey, we can all dream.
